NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt women’s tennis head coach Geoff Macdonald announced Thursday that Anessa Lee signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic career on West End.
“I chose to attend Vanderbilt because of its great education and outstanding tennis program. I am looking forward to playing for Coach Macdonald and Coach Tsoubanos due to their intellectual approach to the game and their development of student-athletes,” said Lee.
Lee will join the Commodores from San Marino, California, where she prepped at San Marino High School and was coached by Melwin Pereira.
Named the Pasadena Play of the Year, Lee also earned MVP status for four consecutive years at San Marino while earning four varsity letters.
The California native holds the title of Rio Hondo League champion from 2016-2019 and is a blue chip recruit, ranking as high as fourth nationally.
“We are thrilled to welcome Anessa Lee to our team and our university. She is a superb student-athlete who we identify as one of the best players in the country. In addition, Anessa will be a great teammate and future lead on this team,” said Macdonald.
