The final signee to be introduced for the Vanderbilt women’s lacrosse team is Mallory Schonk, a Maryland native that plays attack for one of the nation’s strongest high school programs.
Schonk is a two-year varsity starter for Head Coach Chris Robinson’s McDonogh School squad. Since Schonk became a starter at the beginning of her sophomore season, the Eagles have not lost a game–an active winning streak that currently spans 51 games.
The Eagles have claimed the ESPN Powerade Fab 50 Girls national championship in each of the last two seasons, while also winning a pair of IAAM “A” Conference titles. She scored a goal and added an assist in McDonogh’s 18-17 win over Roland Park in the championship game, helping her Eagles defeat current VU freshman Meggie Ramzy (3 goals, 1 assist) and the Reds.
Schonk will be a senior captain for the Eagles this spring, following a fall semester where she captained the McDonogh soccer team. She is a five-time honoree on the school’s Dean’s List.
Outside of school, Schonk plays for coach Michael McLaughlin’s Sky Walkers Lacrosse Club–a squad that also included Ramzy.
