The Vanderbilt lacrosse program continues its introduction of next year’s incoming freshmen class of 2013 today with a midfielder from Salisbury, Md., Kelly Chandler.
Chandler is a three-year starter for Coach Jen Fitzpatrick at Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Va. As a junior last season, Chandler helped lead the Maroon to the ISL-AA championship after winning the A division championship in 2010.
She earned honorable-mention All-America honors as a sophomore and was a regional All-American last year. Chandler has earned All-Met honors from the Washington Post and All-State honors for the VISLA Division I twice.
Chandler has led the Maroon in scoring in each of the past two seasons. She also is a captain of the school’s varsity field hockey team and has lettered in varsity basketball and junior varsity squash.
An outstanding student, Chandler has earned dean’s list recognition in each of her first three years at Episcopal. Chandler’s sister, Kristen, won an NCAA Division III National Championship at Salisbury.
Under the direction of Coach Scott Robinson, Chandler’s M&D Black 2012 won five titles, including a Galaxy National Championship, during an undefeated 2012 season. This year the team has earned Maryland Club and Champions Cup crowns.
