Headed to Knoxville

Commodores head to Tennessee Invitational next week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt women’s tennis will head to Knoxville this weekend for the Tennessee Fall Invitational, Friday through Sunday.

The Commodores will be joined by the host Volunteers, Wake Forest, Kentucky, and Illinois. Vanderbilt’s first matches are on Friday, and play will begin at 8 a.m. CT each day of the weekend. The Commodores will play three rounds of doubles and a round of singles on Friday, a round of each on Saturday, and one round of singles on Sunday.

Most recently, at the ITA Regionals, duos of Holly Staff and Anessa Lee, Marcella Cruz and Dasha Kourkina, and Amy Stevens and MaryAnn Rompf all made it to the Round of 16 in doubles play. Cruz and Staff both made it to the Round of 16 in singles play while Kourkina reached the quarterfinals, just missing the semifinals in a two-set defeat to Tennessee’s Elza Tomase.
