Dores Travel to No. 13 Alabama, No. 12 Auburn

Vanderbilt spends weekend on the road, facing Alabama on Friday and Auburn on Sunday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Vanderbilt women’s tennis team is away this weekend, traveling to Tuscaloosa on Friday to face Alabama, and Auburn on Sunday.

The Commodores added two wins to their record on Sunday, defeating Austin Peay and Tennessee State. Ranked No. 27 in the latest ITA rankings, Vanderbilt posts a 5-2 record for their season so far, with three student-athletes among the top in the nation for singles and two doubles-duos.

Alabama
Bama, with a 9-1 record and No. 13 in the latest ITA team rankings, will be looking for their eighth consecutive win. The Tide is coming off a weekend competing in the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic, where they defeated No. 34 Arizona, No. 44 Illinois and No. 26 Texas Tech to win the title for the third year in a row.

Auburn
The Tigers (6-5) have one up on the Tide, coming in at No. 12 on the charts. This past weekend saw the Tigers split their matches, falling to No. 13 Pepperdine and defeating South Florida. Auburn ended its 2022-23 season ranked No. 17.
