Women's tennis draws Xavier, Columbus Regional, in first round of NCAA Tournament

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – For the 27th consecutive year, the Vanderbilt women’s tennis team has been selected for the NCAA postseason tournament. The Commodores will take on Xavier in the first round of the tournament in Columbus, Ohio, at the Ohio State regional

Boasting a 16-9 record in duals this season, the Commodores ranked as high as 21 nationally and own five wins against ranked opponents. The team currently ranks 29th in the nation while three individuals and one doubles team highlight the rankings as well.

Anna Ross, who spent the spring season competing entirely on Court 1, ranks 51st nationally with a 14-12 record. Anessa Lee owns a 22-13 record on the top three courts and sits 82nd nationally while Holly Staff is 89th overall with a 20-13 record. All three were named to the All-SEC Second Team last week.

At doubles, Ross and Staff combine for an 8-4 record and are 6-2 in dual matches for a ranking of 33rd nationally.

The individual tournament bracket will be announced Tuesday.
