NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt track and field continues its indoor season when the Commodores host 33 teams for the Vanderbilt Invitational at the David Williams II Recreation & Wellness Center Friday and Saturday.
Competing teams
Thirty-four teams will compete at the Vanderbilt Invitational, including Alcorn State, Alabama A&M, Alabama State, Austin Peay, Belmont, Bethel, Campbellsville, Centre College, Cumberland, Furman, Georgia Tech, Kennesaw State, Life, Lindsey Wilson, Lipscomb, Middle Tennessee, Murray State, Ole Miss, Rhodes, SCAD-Atlanta, SCAD-Savannah, Southern Indiana, Tennessee, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech, Trevecca Nazarene, Tulane, Tusculum, Tuskegee, University of the Cumberlands, UT Martin, Vanderbilt, Wallace State Community College and William Carey.
The last time out
• The Commodores headed north to Louisville for Kentucky’s Rod McCravy Memorial Track & Field Meet to kick off action in 2026
• Vanderbilt student-athletes broke two school records and compiled a total of 19 marks ranking in the program’s all-time top 10 over two days
Over the hurdle
• Associate head coach Justin Byron’s 60-meter hurdles squad continues to see success in 2025-26
• At the Rod McCravy Memorial, Falon Spearman broke her own school record in the 60-meter hurdles with a 8.17-second time
• At the season-opening Commodore Challenge, Devyn Parham, Santana Spearman and Taylor McKinnon PRed to improve their marks as the third, fourth and fifth-ranked 60-meter hurdlers in Vanderbilt history
• Freshman Janie Ford added her name to the record books with the No. 8 60-meter hurdles time in school history
Sprint success
• Commodores posted 11 marks ranking top 10 in school history in sprint events at the Rod McCravy Memorial
• To end the weekend, the 4×400-meter relay team of Joy Moorer, Faith Franklin, Allyria McBride and Madyson Wilson clocked 3:34.48, which is the No. 2 time in Vanderbilt history and is currently ranked third in the SEC, fourth in the NCAA
• Making their collegiate debuts, London Jackson-Bray and Kylah Woods turned in program all-time top 10 times in the 60 meters
• Jackson-Bray was the sole Dore to qualify for the event final, recording a 7.42-second mark in the first round, which is ranked No. 2 in school history
• Woods’ time of 7.60 seconds is the seventh-fastest mark in program history
Ford’s freshman season
• In her second-ever collegiate meet, Ford broke the school record in the long jump and added marks to the program’s all-time top 10 lists in the 60-meter hurdles and 300 meters
• Ford is ranked top 20 in the NCAA and is tied for third in the SEC with a 6.18-meter long jump mark
• She’s the third-ranked freshman in NCAA Division I in the long jump
A multi-talented crew
• Since 2023, Vanderbilt has had at least one scoring performer in the pentathlon or heptathlon at the SEC Indoor and Outdoor Championships
• Parham and Marta Sivina, who scored at both the indoor and outdoor conference meets are returners for the Dores this season
• Sivina is ranked second in school history in the pentathlon behind 2023 SEC champion and first-team All-American Beatrice Juskeviciute
• Ford, the 2025 New Balance Nationals pentathlon champion, joins the Commodores’ multi crew this season
• Her 3,941-point score is a New Balance Nationals meet record and the No. 4 all-time pentathlon score by a U.S. high school girl
