NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt men’s tennis will open the spring season at home on Wednesday, hosting East Tennessee State at noon and Tennessee State at 5 p.m.
The Dores will be looking for their first victory of the season, having last competed in November.
Johnson City Contender
ETSU (0-1) travels to Music City after falling to No. 15 Wake Forest. The Bucs were unable to top the nationally ranked team, and they posted a 1-6 score against the Demon Deacons during their season opener.
Music City Matchup
Vanderbilt holds a 9-0 record over Tennessee State (0-1), who will make the two-mile trip to Vandy Wednesday afternoon. Last season saw the Dores top the Tigers 1-0 in February, boasting a 6-0 score for the matchup. The Tigers are coming off a loss (0-7) to Middle Tennessee, having opened their season Saturday, Jan. 13.
Home Match Notes
Wednesday’s matches will be played at Brownlee O. Currey Jr. Tennis Pavilion at the Lummis Family Tennis Center, and admission is free. Free parking is available in the 25th Avenue Garage through the Highland Avenue entrance. For matches that begin before 5 p.m. on weekdays, spectators may park in any nonreserved space on floors nine through 11, and up to one hour before the start of the match. For evening and weekend matches, spectators may park in any nonreserved space using the Highland Avenue entrance. Vanderbilt tennis matches will enforce a clear bag policy.
