Commodores vs. Cowboys in NCAAs

Vanderbilt takes on Oklahoma State in first round of NCAA Regional

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The No. 42 Vanderbilt men’s tennis team travels to Columbus, Ohio, to compete against No. 34 Oklahoma State in the opening round of the NCAA Regional on Friday.

The Commodores had a short break following competition in the SEC Tournament in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where they fell in the first round to Florida. In the most recent ITA rankings, SEC Freshman of the Year Danil Panarin holds the No. 45 spot and Jeremie Casabon and partner Nathan Cox locked in a doubles ranking of No. 70. In the bracket alongside Vanderbilt and Oklahoma State are Ohio State—the top seed nationally in the tournament—and Cleveland State.

The Cowboys are 17-9 overall and also are coming off of a brief break. OSU most recently made it to the second round of the Big 12 Championships after beating UCF 4-2. After losing the doubles point they lost to then-No. 1 Texas, 4-1.

The match is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. CT. Information regarding the tournament can be found on the Ohio State NCAA Championship page. Live stats and livestream links are on the Vanderbilt men’s tennis schedule page.
