Closing the Regular Season at Home

The Commodores host Pride Night Friday, senior day Saturday at the Music City Challenge

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt track and field hosts the Music City Challenge as its last regular season meet Friday and Saturday.

The last time out
• On Tuesday, Veronica Fraley was named the SEC Field Athlete of the Week for her performance at the LSU Alumni Gold
• In Baton Rouge, Fraley won the discus (61.37 meters), was the runner-up in the shot put (16.73 meters) and placed ninth in the hammer throw with a personal-best mark of 51.74 meters.
• Sarah Omoregie picked up a win in the shot put at the LSU Alumni Gold after recording a personal best 17.79-meter throw
• In the 400-meter hurdles, Allyria McBride was the top collegiate, second overall finisher with a time of 56.63 seconds.
• The 4×100-meter relay team of Ella Escobar, Haley Bishop, Nicole Anderson and McBride recorded the sixth-ranked time in school history, 46.15 seconds.

Team notes
• Four Commodores are ranked in the top 25 in the NCAA in their respective events—Fraley (fourth – discus, 22nd – shot put), McBride (11th – 400mH), Omoregie (11th – shot put), Alix Still (23rd – heptathlon).
• Eleven marks by Vandy track student-athletes are among the top 10 event marks in the SEC.
• So far this season, Dores have broken one school record and added 20 marks to the program’s all-time top-10 performers list.

Home meet info
As a part of Pride Night, Commodore track and field, along with Vanderbilt Athlete Ally will host a Pizza & Pronouns event Friday at 5 p.m. Students can RSVP to the event on AnchorLink.

On Saturday, the program will honor its 12 seniors and graduate students—Anderson, Bishop, Joslin Blair, Fraley, Jenna Holland, Max Hughes, Milan Ming, Omoregie, Andrew Pahnke, Lainey Phelps, Mathew Ragsdale and Still—at 1 p.m. on the infield.
