Another Solid Day for Sattelkau

Vanderbilt sophomore two strokes off the lead at Lady Gators Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Celina Sattelkau continued her solid play Monday during the second round of the Lady Gators Invitational and is three strokes off the lead going into Tuesday’s final round.

A sophomore, Sattelkau was 1-over-par on the difficult Mark Bostick Golf Course and is tied for eighth overall. She trails three golfers tied for the individual lead at 2-under-par.

As a team, Vanderbilt struggled for a second consecutive day and was 12-over-par. It remains in 12th place at +32 with a team total of 592 and is 20 shots back of first-place Ole Miss (+12).

Junior Auston Kim recovered from a tough first round to shoot a 1-over 71 on Monday. She moved into a tie for 41st.

Tess Davenport (+11) is tied for 56th while Jayna Choi (+14) and Morgan Baxendale (+14) are each tied for 63rd.

“I felt like we got a little momentum on our side midway through the round today but just couldn’t hang onto it,” Vanderbilt head coach Greg Allen said. “It was nice to see Auston bounce back today and Celina continues to look strong. Mo is getting close.

“A lot of golf left and we’ve got to be able to seize our opportunity Tuesday.”
