NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Vanderbilt women’s tennis team continues the fall schedule this weekend as the Commodores host the June Stewart Invitational. Other teams schedule to compete include Arizona State, Indiana, Kentucky, Middle Tennessee State University and UT Martin.

“It’s great to host a tournament at home,” head coach Geoff Macdonald said. “We expect a really strong field. It’s nice to have teams from the Pac 10 and the Big 10 playing in the tournament. Practices have been very productive and we’re looking forward to a really good fall developmental weekend.”

The tournament is broken down into three bracketed draws and one round robin draw for singles, while the doubles competition is divided into one bracketed draw and two round robin draws.

The Commodores were last in action two weekends ago at the Hoosier Classic. Junior Courtney Ulery led the Commodores, winning her singles flight and improving her fall record to 6-0. Fellow junior Liberty Sveke saw her first action of the fall at the Hoosier Classic, finishing with a 2-1 record on the weekend.

The June Stewart Invitational begins on Friday morning, with the first matches of the day beginning at 9 a.m. Play continues until Sunday. Complete results will be available on vucommodores.com.
