Video: Coach Caldwell comments on Norman injury

The Commodores will likely be without their most versatile and productive offensive player, Warren Norman (So., TB/KR), for the rest of the season.

Head Coach Robbie Caldwell said Norman, from Stone Mountain, Ga., suffered a right wrist dislocation in the second half of the Arkansas game. Team physicans are expected to correct the injury in surgery Tuesday.

“I feel really bad for Warren and I know he is just as disappointed,” Caldwell said. “Warren was having another outstanding season for our football team and was one of our most productive players.”

Norman becomes the second key Commodore contributor in consecutive weeks to suffer an injury that forces an unlikely return. Last week, Jamie Graham (R-Jr., DB) was lost for 4-6 weeks after having to undergo knee surgery.

Through eight games, Norman was the team’s rushing leader in yards (459), attempts (77) and touchdowns (4). He also was one of the most dynamic kickoff returners in the nation, averaging 25.4 yards on 22 returns. Norman also ranked fourth on the team with 11 receptions out of the backfield.

Two tailbacks, Wesley Tate (R-Fr.) and Kennard Reeves (R-Sr.), are expected to get additional snaps behind starter Zac Stacy (So).
