Vanderbilt Heads to Bob Pollock Meet

CLEMSON, S.C. – Vanderbilt track and field will compete in the Bob Pollock Meet at Clemson University Friday and Saturday. Ten student-athletes are set to take part.
 
Nine athletes will compete on Friday. Margaret Ollinger, Caleigh Lofstead and Kristen Denk will compete in pole vault at 3 p.m. Jordan Smith will take part in the 300-meter dash at 3:10 p.m. and Kacie Breeding, Ana Wallace and Jacqueline Pinon will run the one mile at 3:55 p.m. Regan Clay and Taiya Shelby will wrap up the day in the 400-meter dash at 5:15 p.m.
 
Smith currently holds the third-best time at Vanderbilt in the 300-meter dash at 40.48. Earlier this season, Denk tied for the school record in pole vault with a personal-best 13-11.25. The sophomore sits at fourth-best in the Southeastern Conference and at 14th in the nation.
 
Ollinger also is ranked inside the top-10 for pole vault at seventh with a mark of 12-11.5.
 
Becca Schulte will open the day for the Commodores on Saturday in the 600-meter run at 12 p.m. Vanderbilt will wrap up the event at 12:45 p.m. in the 200-meter dash – Clay, Shelby and Smith will all participate.
 
Clay holds the fifth-best time in Vanderbilt history with a 24.88 while Shelby sits at seventh after clocking a time of 24.97 last weekend at the Vanderbilt Indoor.
