Denk Finishes 10th at NCAA Indoors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Vanderbilt pole vaulter Kristen Denk covered 13-7.75 (4.16 meters) at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships Saturday afternoon at the Birmingham Crossplex. The effort was good for 10th nationally and an All-America honor.

“This was a good effort by Kristen today,” said associate head coach Clark Humphreys. “This meet was an improvement on last year’s NCAA Outdoor Championships. We are still working towards that first team All-America goal. I’m confident in her abilities. Now, it’s time for some physical and mental downtime for her. I’m really proud of her today.”

Denk, an All-SEC second team performer, becomes the second Commodore pole vaulter ever to earn indoor All-America status, joining second-teamer Sarah Bell (2017).

Arkansas’ Alexis Jacobus finished first with a mark of 15-1.5.
