ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Commodore track and field team concluded day one of the Power Five Invitational Friday in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
The distance medley relay team of Reagan Bustamante, Haley Walker, Taiya Shelby and Kendall Derry took first place for the second time this season with a time of 11:37.34.
Vanderbilt placed three inside the top six in the 3000-meter run. Anna Grace Morgan took second in a field of 11 with a time of 9:58.84 and Caroline Pietrzyk claimed third after clocking a 9:59.66. Gillian Mortimer finished sixth with a time of 10:11.61.
Regan Clay claimed third in the 200-meter dash with a 25.12 while Jordan Smith took sixth with a 25.59.
Only one Commodore, Emily Cohen, competed in today’s sections of the 800-meter dash. The Toronto, Canada native took ninth with a time of 2:22.16.
Ginger Hutton finished 14th in the mile with a time of 5:04.57.
The Commodores will conclude the Power Five Invitational on Saturday starting with the pole vault and mile run at 11:30 a.m.
