CLEMSON, S.C. – The Commodore track and field team closed out the Clemson Bob Pollock Invitational Saturday afternoon in Clemson, South Carolina.
The trio of Taiya Shelby, Regan Clay and Jordan Smith opened the day with the 200-meter dash. The squad clocked times of 25.37, 25.78 and 25.85, respectively.
Lauren Moffett ran a 2:21.49 in the 800-meter run while Emily Cohen ran a 2:23.76 to close the day.
“We had a good couple days of competing,” associate head coach Clark Humphreys commented. “Kristen and Margaret continue to push their glass ceilings in the pole vault – breakthroughs are around the corner. Ana Wallace finished strong in yesterday’s mile with a late surge. Jordan ran well in the 300-meter, especially after two weeks of illness. Taiya ran a solid 400-meter and continues to impress with her ‘no fear’ attitude. While some events yielded good results, others need improvement and more work. We are looking forward to our next meet in Michigan.”
The Commodores return to action February 1-2 at the Power Five Invitational, hosted by Michigan.
