Commodores Close Out Power Five Invitational

FINAL RESULTS

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Vanderbilt track and field team closed the Power Five Invitational at Michigan on Saturday.
 
Vanderbilt placed two inside the top-10 in pole vault in a field of 17. Kristen Denk took second with a mark of 13-7.25 while Margaret Ollinger took seventh with a personal-best 13-1.50. Caleigh Lofstead took 12th with a mark of 12-7.5.0.
 
Freshman Haley Walker was eighth in the mile after clocking a 4:51 while Reagan Bustamante placed 26th with a time of 4:58.10.
 
Grace Jensen clocked a 2:14.69 in the 800-meter run, good for 16th while Kendall Derry took 20th with a 2:16.06.
 
“It was a good meet showing progress in all events,” stated head coach Steve Keith. “We had a number of personal bests and even more season bests which is what you want to see at this time in the season. Always some things to improve, but all in all a good team effort. This should give us some momentum going into our home indoor meet next weekend.”
 
The Commodores will be back in action February 8-9 in Nashville, Tennessee for the Music City Challenge.
