Team Notes

  • The Commodores dropped to 2-3 on the season after the 76-66 loss to Butler.
  • Butler now leads the all-time series against Vanderbilt, 6-0.
  • Coach Drew is now 3-1 all-time against Butler.
  • Vanderbilt outshot the Bulldogs, 42.3% to 40.4%, on the night.
  • Butler went to the free-throw line 36 times, and converted on 25 of those attempts (69.4%). Vanderbilt was 15-19 from the charity stripe (78.9%).
  • The Bulldogs out rebounded Vanderbilt, 36-33.
  • The Commodores committed 16 turnovers on the night, compared to 12 for the Bulldogs, and outscored Vanderbilt, 21-10, in points off of turnovers.

Individual Notes

  • Freshman guard Payton Willis scored a career-high 17 points. Willis from 5-8 from the floor, 2-5 from three, and 5-6 from the charity stripe. He also added three rebounds and two assists.
  • Junior forward Jeff Roberson also added double figures with 11 points, his third double-digit scoring effort of the season and 23rd of his career.
  • Senior center Luke Kornet led the team with five rebounds.
  • Junior guard Riley LaChance dished out six assists for the second consecutive game.
