Vanderbilt track & field will return to action this weekend as they hit the road for Charlottesville, Va. to compete in the Virginia Challenge. The Commodores have already set two school records this season in the 4×800 relay and distance medley relay.

The meet begins on Friday at 10 a.m. (CT) with the women’s hammer and the first Vanderbilt competitor of the day will be Tierney Price in the triple jump at 10:30 a.m. (CT). The last race of the first day will be the 10000-meter run at 8:20, which will feature Caroline Pietrzyk and Mailin Struck. Saturday’s action will resume at 8:00 a.m. with Kacie Breeding competing in the 3000-meter steeplechase and the meet will conclude at 9:15 p.m. with the 5000-meter run. Carmen Carlos and Megan Huebner will race in the 5000-meter run to cap off the Virginia Challenge for the Commodores. Below is a full list of Vanderbilt athletes slated to compete this weekend:

5000-meters (Sect. 3) (8:15 a.m.) – Devon Grisbaum

1500-meters (9:10 a.m.) – Kendall Derry

Long Jump (11:00 a.m.) – Sarah Goodale, Tierney Price

100-Hurdles (1:15 p.m.) – Sarah Goodale

200-meters (2:00 p.m.) – Becca Schulte

Also of note for the Vanderbilt track team this weekend, junior sprinter Jenn Edobi and assistant coach Donnie Young will travel to Nassau, Bahamas this weekend for the IAAF World Relays. Edobi will represent Nigeria in the 4×400 relay and Young will serve as one of the coaches for the Nigerian staff over the weekend. The 4×400 relay prelims will take place at 7:30 p.m. (CT) on Saturday and the finals will be at 8:10 p.m. (CT) Sunday evening.
