Vanderbilt packed a full schedule into the team’s Saturday with visits to the Holocaust Memorial Museum, National Archive and the Naval Academy.
The Dores toured all four floors of the powerful Holocaust Museum. The team wrapped up the tour with a conversation with Holocaust survivor Henry Greenbaum. A quick trip to the National Archive was set to yield a Vandy Boys version of the movie National Treasure starring Nic Cage with Karl Ellison starring in place of Cage but the museum’s no photography rule but an end to the plan. The team did get to see the Magna Carta, Bill of Rights, Constitution and Declaration of Independence.
The day wrapped up with a visit to The Yard led by Naval Academy students, including Brentwood’s own Adam Johnson. The team saw the school’s two Heisman Trophies won by Joe Bellino (1960) and Roger Staubach (1963) in the natatorium. The tour ended in the stunning Memorial Ballroom.
