Vandy Honored for Academics

The USTFCCCA named the Vanderbilt track and field program and 14 student-athletes all-academic

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt track and field and 14 of its student-athletes were named all-academic by the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association Monday.

The team compiled a 3.566 GPA during the spring semester. All-academic teams must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

For individuals to be named all-academic, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA and meet athletic criteria. Indoors, people must be ranked in the top 96 in any championship individual event, or in the top 48 in championship relay event for the most recent indoor season. During the outdoor season, participation in any round of the NCAA DI Outdoor Track & Field Championships or a top 48 ranking in multi-events is required.

Commodore honorees included Audrey Allman (law, history, & society and human & organizational development), Haley Bishop (communication studies), Emma Curry (child studies and cognitive studies), Veronica Fraley (human development), Lena Gooden (undeclared), Sarah Marvin (medicine, health, & society), Allyria McBride (environmental sociology and communication of science & technology), Madison Murray (finance), Sarah Omoregie (finance), Julia Rosenberg (psychology and Spanish), Marta Sivina (economics), Falon Spearman (medicine, health & society), Alix Still (marketing) and Kosi Umerah (anthropology and political science).
