Vanderbilt’s Joe Germanese Named to Top Freshman List

Vanderbilt men’s soccer freshman Joe Germanese has been tagged as one of the top freshman in the nation. The College Soccer News (www.collegesoccernews.com) has named him to its list of the Top 100 Freshman To Keep an Eye On.

“I’m excited to see that others feel as strongly about Joe’s ability as we do,” VU Head Coach Tim McClements said. “Although he has only been with us for a few weeks, his presence has been a very positive one for our program. Joe is definitely an impact player and his best years are ahead of him,” McClements added.

Germanese, a 5-11 forward from Ballwin, Mo., scored the first goal in the Commodore’s 2-1 win over Carson Newman in exhibition action.

The Commodores (0-1) host Drury Monday (Sept. 6) at 3 pm in their home opener at the Vanderbilt Soccer Stadium.
