NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Vanderbilt track and field coaching staff has announced the canceling of its 2009 home meets due to track repairs and safety regulations on the Mondo synthetic track at the Vanderbilt Track and Field Complex.
The Commodores were originally set to host the Vanderbilt Invitational on April 17-18 and the annual high school Great Eight Meet during the middle of the same week.
Both the Vanderbilt Invitational and high school Great Eight Meet are scheduled to return for the 2010 season.
Instead of hosting the Vanderbilt Invitational April 17-18, the Commodores will split their squad and compete at the Auburn Invitational and Louisville Invitational the same weekend.
If any coach or team has any questions regarding the canceling of the two home events please forward your comments to assistant track coach Clark Humphreys at clark.humphreys@vanderbilt.edu or via phone at 615-322-8328.
