Three of the women’s track and field team traveled to Alabama for a “last chance” qualifier meet for a shot at the National Indoors Championships. Brionne Williams, Ellie Tidman and Meagan Martin each performed well, earning high marks in their events, though they did not qualify.
“All three of these women, they have set themselves up for a fantastic outdoor season,” said head coach Steve Keith. “They are jumping at their all-time best and we look for some more improvements when we open up at our Black and Gold home meet on March 23-24.”
Williams, competing in the high jump, hit a mark of 5-10.50 (1.79m), with teammate Tidman clearing the bar at 5-07.00 (1.70m). Martin finished the pole vault with a height of 12-11.00 (3.94m).
“The ladies performed beautifully,” said assistant coach Clark Humphreys. “They continue to push their own personal limits and are seeing the benefits of their hard work. The outdoor season looks to produce more exciting performances.”
