Track heads back to Lexington this weekend

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt track team heads to Lexington, Ky. once again this indoor season for the Rod McCravy Memorial Invitational.

The entire team will be traveling this weekend, as the distance corps had the weekend off for the Razorback Invitational Jan. 23 and 24.

The sprinting unit was led by sophomore Anna Carr, who placed sixth in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.84. Vanderbilt also had solid performances by sophomore Teegan Hill and junior Taylor Jackson.

Sophomore Meagan Martin led the Commodores in the pole vault, clearing a career-high 11-5.75, which puts the Lake Mary, Fla. native in third place all-time in VU history and 10th place for the meet. Junior Katherine Hendricks cleared the same height, finishing 13th.

Freshmen Morgan Toone and Alyson Hasty are also coming off solid performances at pole vault in their first two meets for Vanderbilt.

The field events will compete on Friday evening and Saturday morning, and the running events will begin early on Saturday afternoon.
