STANFORD, Calif. – Vanderbilt freshman standout Jordan White finished fifth out of nine runners in her 800-meter heat to lead the Commodores at the Stanford Invitational this weekend. White teamed up with fellow freshman Louise Hannallah and sophomore Adrienne DiRaddo as the lone Vanderbilt runners to compete at the Stanford Invite.

White, a native of Old Chatham, N.Y., got out fast in the 800 and stayed with the top-half of the pack before crossing the tape at 2:15.39.

“I thought the race was a good experience for Jordan,” said distance coach Steve Keith. “She is still learning and this race will benefit and prepare her for future competitions.”

Hannallah ran her first 5K of the outdoor season, posting a time of 17:40.70 to finish 16th out of 26 runners.

“This was Louise’s first 5K and while the time wasn’t quite what we wanted, Keith said. “I think she learned a lot about the event and knows there is a lot of things we can improve on for the next competition.”
