GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A pair of Commodores etched their names into school history after a successful Day 1 at the Pepsi Florida Relays on Friday night.
Haley Bishop competed in a heavily contested 200 meter race and crossed in 23.51. Bishop’s time is now the second-best all-time in school history.
Joslin Blair concluded Day 1 for Vanderbilt on a high note after finishing fifth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. She notched a 10:53.81 which is now the eighth-best time in school history.
Jess Creedon and Jada Sims commenced the meet for the Dores in the long jump. Creedon finished the event with a mark of 5.00 meters with Sims posting an outdoor personal best of 5.29 meters.
Madison Fuller competed in the 200 meters as well and notched a 24.16.
In the 400 meter hurdles, Creedon crossed the finish line at 1:04.11.
Divine Oladipo‘s mark of 51.26 meters came in the discus.
Day 2 of the Pepsi Florida Relays will begin for Vanderbilt at 11 a.m. with Oladipo in the shot and 12:30 p.m. on the track with the 4×100 meter relay team of Taiya Shelby, Bishop, Jordan Smith, and Fuller.
