NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After two days competing at Florida Relays and the Joe Walker Invitational, Vanderbilt track and field set two school record and added four program all-time top 10 marks to the record books.
Falon Spearman began the day in Gainesville by matching her personal best in the 100-meter hurdles to qualify for the event final where she would place fourth with a time of 13.20 seconds. She clocked 13.16 seconds in prelims, which matches her school record.
In the same event, Santana Spearman was just 0.02 seconds off her PR, registering a time of 13.54 seconds. Taylor McKinnon ran a personal-best 13.62-second race. She is now tied for fifth in program history.
Josie Donelson added her second mark to the Commodore record books this weekend, turning in a time of 53.58 seconds in the 400 meters, which ranks sixth in school history.
At the Joe Walker Invitational, Kaden Narayani notched a 25-second PR in the 1,500 meters and placed fifth in the open division with a time of 4:00.29.
Isabella Dagrosa was the top freshman, second overall finisher in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.85.
On Day 1 in Oxford, Michael Skora broke the 39-year-old school record in the 1,500 meters, clocking 3:44.16. The 4×100-meter relay of Ella Escobar, Tina Benzinger, Alima Kassim and Donelson and Joy Moorer recorded program all-time top 10 times Friday in Florida.
The Dores will take a weekend off before heading west to the Bryan Clay Invitational and Mt. SAC Relays April 16-19. Vandy student-athletes will also compete at the Georgia Tech Invitational April 18-19.
