Following Vanderbilt’s game, host Virginia Tech will play Alcorn State. The Commodores (8-3) arrived in Blacksburg on Tuesday evening where they were greeted by five inches of snow that had fallen on Sunday.

The Commodores will play either Alcorn State or Virginia Tech on Thursday.

Nation’s Leading Scorer Not on Trip
The Blue Hens will be without the services of Elena Delle Donne, who leads the nation in scoring at 26.0 points per outing. Delle Donne missed Delaware’s previous game (a 50-45 loss to St. Joseph’s) due to fatigue and did not travel with the team to Blacksburg.

Virginia Tech April 16 Memorial
In the center of Virginia Tech’s campus is a memorial (see photo) for the 32 members of the Virginia Tech family that had their lives cut short by the tragic April 16, 2007 on-campus shooting. The memorial is located on the Drillfield and includes 32 Hokie Stones, which are arranged in a semi-circle. Snow covered portions of the memorial Wednesday morning. Video of the memorial is below. Vanderbilt’s team visited the memorial Thursday after shootaround. The seniors on Vanderbilt’s team were high school seniors when the shooting took place.
