NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt track and field’s trio of Janie Ford, Marta Sivina and Falon Spearman were among the list of names announced as qualifiers for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas on March 13–14.
The top 16 declared student-athletes in each event advance to the national championship.
Ford, who recently won the SEC title in the pentathlon, currently ranks sixth in the country with a school-record score of 4,373 points. During the SEC pentathlon competition, she set personal bests in the 60-meter hurdles, high jump and 800 meters. During her debut season, Ford has broken five school records and added four more performances to the program’s all-time top 10 lists. She also owns a long jump PR of 6.56 meters, which is the No. 2 mark in the SEC, No. 7 in the NCAA this season.
Sivina will join her teammate Ford in the pentathlon at the NCAA meet. At the SEC Championships, Sivina tallied a personal-best 4,269 points, which ranks third in program history and 12th among NCAA qualifiers. During the SEC Championships, she PRed in the long jump with a 5.81-meter mark, which is ranked 10th in school history. She is a four-time scorer in the multi at the conference meet, but this will be her first appearance at an NCAA Championship, indoor or outdoor.
Spearman rounds out Vandy’s list of qualifying student-athletes and will compete in the 60-meter hurdles in Fayetteville. The senior reset her own school record in the event three times throughout the indoor season. Spearman’s personal-best mark of 8.07 seconds is tied for ninth in the SEC and 14th in the NCAA this season. She will be making her second NCAA Championship appearance as she also advanced to the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 100-meter hurdles last spring.
The 2026 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship begin on March 13 at 11:15 a.m. with the pentathlon 60-meter hurdles. The meet will be streamed on ESPN+.
