Day One RecapDay Two RecapDay Three Recap
The ITA Regionals continued on Sunday and Vanderbilt had athletes qualify for both the doubles and singles championship, which will take place at 9 a.m. on Monday morning. The Commodores are the only team with athletes in both finals matches. It is also the first time that Vanderbilt has had an athlete advance to the finals in either draw since 2014, when Rhys Johnson and Gonzales Austin won the doubles championship with a victory over Louisville’s Albert Wagner and Chris Simich. Austin also advanced to the finals in the singles draw in 2014 before falling to Andrew Watson from Memphis. The last Commodore to win the ITA Regionals Championship singles draw was current assistant coach Ryan Lipman in 2013.
Doubles Recap
Lachlan McPhee and Billy Rowe are headed to the championship match at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships. The dynamic doubles duo has lived up to their billing as the top seed in the doubles draw thus far and won yet again in the semifinals on Sunday morning. Rowe/McPhee matched up against third-seeded Matt Story and Kai Lemke from Memphis and won the match by a score of 7-6 (4), 6-3.
Rowe and McPhee will play against the second-seeded doubles team of Parker Wynn and Chris Kougoucheff from Louisville in the championship match on Monday morning. Wynn/Kougoucheff defeated (7) Jan Pallares and Felix Rauch of Memphis in order to advance to the championship match.
Singles Recap
