Theresa Barsanti

Theresa Barsanti was hired as director of compliance at Vanderbilt in September 2024.

She joined the Commodore staff after serving nearly a year and a half as assistant athletic director for compliance at San Jose State, where she administered, oversaw and supervised the day-to-day operations of the school’s compliance unit. Barsanti was at Virginia Commonwealth for just over five years before that, first as compliance coordinator for almost two years before earning a promotion to director of compliance and recruiting. She began in collegiate athletics with compliance internships at Vermont and Northeastern while an undergraduate student, and was also a compliance coordinator and interim director of compliance at Florida Gulf Coast from 2016-18.

Barsanti graduated from St. Michael’s (Vt.) College in 2016 with a degree in political science after competing as a member of the school’s swimming team.
