Joining the Vanderbilt swim team for their first season in over a decade is assistant coach Shannon Van Curen.
Van Curen was a letterwinner at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she became a three-time Big Ten Champion and a four-time NCAA All-American in just two full seasons. Van Curen was forced to end her collegiate career prematurely due to injury, but earned spots on the 2002 and 2004 All-Big Ten teams before she finished.
Van Curen is a Nashville native who grew up swimming for the Nashville Aquatic Club. She has coached at Wisconsin[apos]s summer camp and still serves as the assistant age group coach for the NAC.
