Associate Director • Development

Javon Marshall joined Vanderbilt Athletics as associate director of development with the National Commodore Club in April 2023.

He came to Nashville from Oregon State, where he worked in a pair of roles the previous two and a half years. After joining the school as assistant director of advancement for engagement & strategy in September 2021, he served as associate director of development for the university foundation before starting at Vandy.

A native of Huber Heights, Ohio, Marshall was a four-year letterwinner on the Commodore football team from 2010-13. He served as a team captain for the program’s nine-win squads that claimed postseason bowl game victories each of his last two seasons, making the SEC Academic Honor Roll both of those years before earning an invitation to play in the College All-Star Bowl.

After participating in the Atlanta Falcons’ free agent camp in 2013, Marshall returned to Vandy to serve three seasons as a graduate assistant/quality control coach for the Dores. He received his undergraduate degree from the school in human and organizational development and educational master’s degree in diversity and inclusion, and is currently working toward a doctorate degree in adult & higher education administration at Oregon State.
