Spring Showcase features abundance of activities

NASHVILLE – An assortment of Vanderbilt Athletics gear, apparel and merchandise, from football helmets and game jerseys to logo polos, sweatshirts, T-shirts and practice gear, will be available to Commodore fans at the Spring Showcase on Saturday, March 24.

The surplus sale will be held on the west concourse of Vanderbilt Stadium from 4-6 p.m.

The sale is part of several athletic-related activities scheduled for Saturday on campus, including Vanderbilt football’s Spring Showcase, the second of a three-game baseball series with LSU and the Black & Gold Track and Field Invitational.

More than 2,000 pieces of official Vanderbilt gear will be available for purchase. The inventory includes football helmets, game jerseys with and without numbers, jackets and polos. Workout gear, including sweat pants, hoodies, shoes, socks and compression gear will also be available.

The surplus sale will feature helmets (three styles available) with facemasks and without facemasks ($40-$50), football game jerseys with numbers and without numbers ($20-$30), Vanderbilt jackets, hoodies, sweatshirts and shoes ($20), Vanderbilt polos, shorts, game pants, sweat pants, T-shirts/tank tops, compression gear and socks (per dozen) ($10) among other items.

The Spring Showcase offers an excellent opportunity for Vanderbilt fans to witness the progress of Derek Mason’s Commodores. The Showcase, which starts at 3 p.m. and is free to fans, will feature a scripted scrimmage, 7-on-7 segments and individual fundamental drills. Vanderbilt Stadium gates open at 2 p.m.

Several other activities are scheduled in conjunction with the Spring Showcase, baseball game, track meet and surplus sale. An assortment of family and kids activities, including a photo booth, inflatables and carnival games will be located outside Gate 2 of the stadium. Food from three of Nashville’s most popular food trucks – Retro Sno (original shaved ice), Il Forno (wood-fired pizza) and Little Cancun (Mexican entrees) – will be available on Jess Neely Drive starting at 1:30 p.m.

All fans attending the Showcase will receive complimentary 2018 schedule posters at Gate 2. Vanderbilt student-athletes will remain on the field afterward for a brief autograph session with fans.

Limited tickets remain for the Vanderbilt-LSU baseball game Saturday night in Hawkins Field. First pitch for the conference matchup between the Commodores and Tigers is 7:30 p.m. Outfield seats remaining for the game are $12 each.

More than 500 athletes are expected to compete Saturday at the Black & Gold Track and Field Invitational. Events will be held from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Vanderbilt’s newly resurfaced outdoor track complex. Admission is $5 to the track meet.

Vanderbilt season tickets available
Season tickets for Vanderbilt’s seven-game home schedule will be available at the Spring Showcase. The Commodores open the year hosting Middle Tennessee on Saturday, Sept. 1, and close the regular season hosting Tennessee on Saturday, Nov. 24.

In between the MTSU and Tennessee contests, Vanderbilt will host Nevada on Saturday, Sept. 8, South Carolina on Sept. 22, Tennessee State on Sept. 29, Florida on Oct. 13 and Ole Miss on Nov. 17.

Season ticket packages start as low as $148 for a limited general admission seat on the north end zone beam. Reserved seats range from $178 (south end zone sections) to $308 (premium sideline sections).
