Redshirt Senior (2010-11)
Led the team in scoring average with a 73.2 average in 32 rounds…Had three top 10 finishes and two top five[apos]s in 2011-12…Posted a low round of 67 in the first round of The Prestige at PGA West…Best finish of the season came at the Memphis Intercollegiate, when he placed fourth with a 221 (80-68-73)…Also had a top five finish at the Carmel Cup in Pebble Beach.
Redshirt Junior (2010-11)
Played in all 11 tournaments and 31 rounds, and led the team in stroke average with a 73.3 average…Claimed medalist honors, his first individual championship, at The Hummingbird Intercollegiate, when he carded a 66 and 69 (135)…Also posted top 10 finishes at the Invitational at The Ocean Course (T-10th, 76-74-72=222), the Mason Rudolph Championship (T-4th, 71-70-68=209), the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate (T-6th, 74-75-69=218), and the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Invitational (3rd, 70-69-70)…His first-round 66 at the Hummingbird Intercollegiate was the team low for the season…Was the team[apos]s best finisher in six of the team[apos]s 11 tournaments…Named to the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll for his work in the classroom.
Junior (2009-10)
Redshirted after missing the season with a wrist injury.
Sophomore (2008-09)
Competed in 26 rounds for the Commodores during nine events… Earned runner-up honors at the 2009 Reunion Intercollegiate in Mississippi with a two-over 218… Also earned a top-20 finish at the 2008 Hummingbird Intercollegiate… Featured in the lineup for VU[apos]s final four team events of the 2009 season.
Freshman (2007-08)
Played 10 tournament rounds during four appearances for the Commodores as a freshman… Finished the season with a 75.60 stroke average to lead VU[apos]s three freshmen… Debuted in Vanderbilt[apos]s first event of the season, the Carpet Capital Collegiate, finishing in 52nd out of 90 players with a 10-over 226… Low 18-hole score came in the third round of the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate hosted by ETSU… Shot a seven-over 78 at the Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate… Also competed at the Bank of America Intercollegiate in Reunion, Miss., finishing in 56th place with a 13-over 229.
Amateur
Captured medalist honors at the Pennsylvania Golf Association[apos]s 2007 Amateur Championship at Pittsburgh[apos]s Long Vue Club… Birdied the 17th hole of his third and final round to win the event by one stroke over Pinecrest[apos]s Ryan Smith… Placed fifth at the 89th-annual Western Junior… Along with three Top-10 finishes in AJGA events, he holds five titles from the IJGT (International Junior Golf Tour) and FCWT (Future Collegians World Tour)… Third place at the 2006 AJGA Mindmatters Inc.
High School
A three-year captain at Fox Chapel, Hofmann won the WPIAL (Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League) individual championship in 2006… His score of two-under 70 won the event at the Totteridge Golf Course by four strokes… Qualified for the state finals by shooting a one-over 71 to take medalist honors at the WPIAL boys semifinal tournament at Oakview.
