NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The SEC announced its annual track and field community service team Thursday, naming Vanderbilt sophomore Santana Spearman to the list.
Since June 2023, Spearman has dedicated over 50 hours serving the Nashville community. She served as a social impact intern at Vanderbilt, where she helped supervise community service events with the Vanderbilt Bridge program and also volunteered with the Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Special Olympics Tennessee. She was also a Music City Corporate Challenge volunteer with Special Olympics Tennessee. Other activities include: volunteered with the Jones Before School Program at Jones Paideia Elementary School; worked with the RISE UP Mentorship Program; prepared meals with the Nashville Food Project; cleaned toys for the playroom at Vanderbilt University Children’s Hospital; volunteered at the KYA High School Classic Track Meet; helped to clean up invasive species in Shelby Park; and participated in Vanderbilt Pepsi Social Impact Day
