LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Seven Vanderbilt bowlers have entered the field for the 2020 United States Amateur Championship, which will be held Friday-Tuesday at the Gold Coast Bowling Center.

Commodore seniors Bryanna Leyen and Adel Wahner, junior Samantha Gainor, sophomore Angelique Dalesandro and freshmen Liz Ross, Amelia Kiefer and Mabel Cummins will be among the 165 women competing for the championship which is being held concurrently with the USBC Team USA Trials.

Cummins came within a whisker of winning the US Amateur last year, finishing as the runner-up after losing to Breanna Clemmer (McKendree University) in the championship match.

Vanderbilt has a long history of representation on USA teams. Associate head coach Josie Barnes is a current member of Team USA although she will not be bidding to repeat after the birth of her daughter last October. Wahner and Cummins are current members of Junior Team USA.

The top four finishers in the large field will receive automatic berths on Team USA. Complete tournament coverage can be found on bowl.com.
