Seven Vanderbilt track and field athletes have been honored by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for their combination of athletic and academic achievement during the 2013 indoor and outdoor track seasons.
Liz Anderson, Sara Barron, Hannah Jumper, Grace Orders, Allie Scalf, Ellie Tidman and Lily Williams were among the 710 Division I women who posted a spring GPA of at least 3.25 while meeting a national competition standard. Indoor athletes must have finished in the nation’s top 96 in an individual event or top 48 in a relay, while outdoor athletes must have qualified for the NCAA Preliminary Round.
In addition to the seven student-athletes, Vanderbilt was one of 187 women’s teams to be honored for having a cumulative indoor and outdoor team GPA of 3.32. Coupled with the men’s and women’s cross country programs, all four varsity sports under the direction of Head Coach Steve Keith received All-Academic honors from the USTFCCCA during the 2012-13 year.
