The Umerah File
Kosi Umerah was a lettterwinner at IMG Academy and owns prep-best marks of 18 meters in the weight throw, 50.9 meters in the hammer throw and 40.03 meters in the discus. A two-time All-American, she was the weight throw champion at the New Balance Indoor Nationals and placed fourth in the hammer throw at the Nike Outdoor Nationals. As a senior, she garnered high honors, earned the Ascenders Award and was named the Most Outstanding Field Athlete. Umerah was among the first female national champions on the IMG Academy track and field team. Academically, she was a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society.

Personal
Kosi is the daughter of Emeka and Anayo Umerah. She has two siblings, Ify and Tobe. Her brother, Tobe, played football at Stanford.
