NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Cherice Robertson claimed the high jump with a jump of 5’7″ on Saturday at the Vanderbilt Track and Field Invitational, while also setting a personal best in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.11, to lead the Commodores.
Rita Jorgensen, who won the 3,000 meters on Friday, finished fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:08.16, a personal best in another Vanderbilt highlight on Saturday.
In other action, Bianca Stuart of Southern Illinois set a meet record in the long jump with a mark of 20’8″, while JaRod Tobler, who jumped unattached, set a stadium record with a jump of 26’2.75″. Garland Porter, competing as an unattached thrower in the hammer throw, had a throw of 220’2″, a new stadium record, and Berry Joseph, posted a mark of 17’1″ in the pole vault, a new stadium record. Hazel Clark-Riley of Knoxville Elite also set a new stadium record in the 800 meters with a time of 2:01.98.
The Tennessee 4X100 meter relay team of Jeneba Tarmoh, Cleo Tyson, LaTonya Loche, and Lynne Layne set a new meet record with a time of 44.52.
The track portion of the meet has been completed, but a few field events are still to be determined. Complete results will be released as soon as those events are finished.
