Friday’s results: Day 1 Results
For the Vanderbilt track team, the first day of the Commodore Invitational was all about quality, not quantity.
Although the short-handed Commodores didn’t compete in many events, they produced several impressive results, including a school record and first-place finish by the VU relay team in the 4×800.
Katherine Delaney, Reagan Anderson, Maddie Criscione and Sara Barron posted a school-best time of 8:59.05 to finish well ahead of second-place Murray State, which finished at 9:18.98.
The Commodores, who are dealing with several injuries, also saw a ninth-place finish by Jennifer Edobi in the women’s 200 meters with a time of 24.88. Vanderbilt’s Ashlyn Hare took 11th in the high jump at 5-5.25.
The Invitational resumes today, with a host of Commodores scheduled to compete. (See list below for Vanderbilt’s schedule).
