Relay Caps Day 1 in Louisville With A Record

Kosi Umerah sets a new standard in the weight throw once again

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Vanderbilt women’s track and field team posted a school record and a facility record Friday on the first day of the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational hosted by Louisville.

Kosi Umerah threw a personal best and school record in the weight throw a 19.11 toss. This is the third week in a row the freshman improved her personal best.

The Commodores posted a first-place finish and a facility record in the distance medley relay with a time of 11:42.03. The team consisted of freshman Audrey Allman, juniors Lainey Phelps and Rondajai Washington and graduate Haley Walker.

Field events will begin at 10 a.m. CT while running events will start at 11 a.m. for the second day of the invitational.
