Regional Qualifiers Announced

Seven Commodores advance to the NCAA East First Round

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt track and field student-athletes earned eight qualifications for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships East First Round in Jacksonville, Florida, May 28-31, the NCAA announced Thursday.

Devyn Parham, Falon Spearman and Santana Spearman qualified in the 100-meter hurdles. Allyria McBride, Joy Moorer, F. Spearman and Madyson Wilson will compete in the 400-meter hurdles. The Commodores will also be represented by Julia Rosenberg in the 1,500 meters.

Parham and Wilson will be making their NCAA postseason debuts, while the rest of the Vanderbilt crew will be making repeat appearances on the NCAA regional stage.

Parham put herself into the regional conversation after running a personal best 13.26 seconds in the heptathlon 100-meter hurdles at the SEC Championships. She jumped from sixth to second on the school’s all-time top 10 list.

It will be McBride’s third year competing at the regional meet. As a freshman, McBride advanced to the NCAA Championship in the 400 hurdles and garnered second-team All-America honors. Despite narrowly missing out on nationals as a sophomore, McBride saw success later in the season as a 400 hurdles semifinalist at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials.

Both Spearmans made regional appearances in the short hurdles in 2024. At last year’s meet, F. Spearman clocked 13.16 seconds to set the school record, a time she matched at Florida Relays this season. She’s currently ranked top 25 in the region in the event.

In 2024, Moorer advanced to the nationals out of the West First Round as a member of Colorado’s 4×400-meter relay.

The top 12 individual qualifiers and top 12 relays will move on to compete at the NCAA Outdoor Championships June 5-8 in Eugene, Oregon.
