BATON ROUGE, La. — Vanderbilt track and field closed out the road portion of the 2026 outdoor season with a flurry of top 10 updates and another pair of new school records at the LSU Alumni Gold.
Lena Gooden reset her own school record in long jump, jumping 6.31 meters on her final attempt. She not only won the event but topped her previous record by 0.05 meters.
The Commodores had been flirting with the program record in the 4×400 meter relay all season, with three times cracking the top 5 all-time, but the team of Faith Franklin, Josie Donelson, Mya Georgiadis and Madyson Wilson put together a time of 3:30.92 to get over the hump. They topped the previous record by nearly a second and a half.
While the school record put an exclamation point on the day’s events, Franklin and Wilson also had updates to the all-time top 10 lists in the 400 meters and 400-meter hurdles, respectively. Franklin shaved 0.04 seconds off her 400-meter time from the Crimson Tide Invitational two weeks ago to set a new personal best of 52.24 seconds and hold the third spot all-time. Wilson, too, used the weekend off from competition to top her personal best from the Crimson Tide Invitational. She cut over half a second from her previous best time, finishing in 56.82 seconds to claim second in the event and sit fifth in program history.
Vanderbilt finished 3-4-5 in the 100-meter hurdles, Falon Spearman, with a time of 13.22 seconds to place third, Santana Spearman, taking fourth with a season-best time of 13.37 seconds, and Taylor McKinnon, earning fifth with a time of 13.47 seconds. McKinnon’s time was a personal best and moved the senior into fourth all-time in the event.
Marta Sivina took fourth in the long jump with a personal best of 6.10 meters. That distance is the third best in Vanderbilt history.
Pryncess Jackson made a return to Vanderbilt’s top 10 list in high jump, clearing 1.73 meters. That performance moved her into eighth all-time.
Jacqueline Rose recorded a new outdoor-best in pole vault to move herself up the all-time top 10 list. She recorded a season-best 3.81 meters to move into eighth all-time.
Vanderbilt finishes up its regular season slate when the Commodores host the Music City Challenge Friday and Saturday.
