The last time out
Vanderbilt kicked off its outdoor track and field season with back-to-back meet weekends where student-athletes notched three school records and added several marks to the program’s all-time top 10 rankings.
For the Commodore hurdlers’ efforts at Florida Relays, the 400 and 100-meter hurdle squads were ranked second and third respectively, in the USTFCCCA’s Checkpoint 2 Event Squad Rankings. Allyria McBride led the Dores in the 400 hurdles, registering a sixth-place finish at the meet. Her time of 57.13 seconds ranks fifth in the SEC and 13th nationally. The 100 hurdlers were paced by Falon Spearman, who matched her school record time of 13.16 seconds in prelims at Florida Relays. She is the seventh-ranked 100 hurdler in the conference and is tied for 18th in the NCAA rankings.
At the Joe Walker Invitational, Brady Bliven and Michael Skora each broke a school record. Bliven clocked 1:49.66 in the 800 meters to place fourth. Skora earned a third-place finish with a time of 3:44.16 in the 1,500 meters, which broke the 39-year-old program standard.
