FRANKLIN, Tenn. — The University of Mississippi shot a two-over 290 during Tuesday’s final round of play to take the team championship of the 2006 Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate at the Vanderbilt Legends Club.
Ole Miss’ team total of 876 (290-296-290) won the tournament by eight strokes over co-runners-up Vanderbilt and North Florida. UT-Chattanooga captured fourth place after shooting the tournament’s only under-par round on Tuesday. Memphis, Rice and Toledo rounded out the top half of the 14-team field.
There were co-medalists in the individual competition, as Silas Sutton of Mercer and Kyle Peterman of Memphis tied at three-under. Sutton shot identical rounds of one-under 71 on all three days, while Peterman rebounded from a slow start to shoot the low rounds on Monday and Tuesday (70 and 66, respectively).
Vanderbilt’s Luke List, the defending champion and day two leader, finished in a tie for third with MTSU’s Chas Narramore at one-under. Vanderbilt’s Jon Curran, Rice’s Kaz Hoffman and Ole Miss’ Callum Macaulay tied for fifth at even-par.
