Feb. 21, 2015

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – No. 12 Vandy hopes to snap their three-match losing streak after falling to Oklahoma State, Southern Cal, and Stanford this weekend as they host the No. 6 Baylor Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Commodores currently own a 4-4 mark on the season and boast an undefeated 3-0 record at home. Vanderbilt has yet to compete against an unranked team, earning experience in every match thus far.

The Commodores are coming off two hard 4-3 losses to No. 12 USC and No. 10 Stanford, but the team knows that the adversity they face earlier in the season will payoff in dividends later as SEC action is just around the corner.

Vanderbilt boasts four ranked singles players, all in the ITA top-90. Sophomore Sydney Campbell leads the `Dores at No. 15; Campbell is followed by No. 62 Marie Casares, No. 71 Courtney Colton, and No. 89 Frances Altick.

Vandy also is home to two ranked doubles duos in No. 18 Courtney Colton and Sydney Campbell and No. 32 Ashleigh Antal and Marie Casares.

Scouting the Bears:

Before making their way to West End the 15-0 Bears will travel No. 15 Michigan for their first roast test of the weekend. In their last competition the Bears defeated the No. 14 Clemson Tigers in a challenging 4-3 match.

The Bears currently have three ranked singles players all in the top-90. Leading the pack is No. 19 Ema Burgic. Burgic is currently the No. 1 singles player for the Bears and boasts a 10-0 win streak, with only one loss to her name so far this year during tournament season. Playing primarily in the No. 3 spot of the Bear lineup, freshman Kelley Anderson is on a notable six-match win steak.

In tandems, Baylor has one ranked team in No. 27 Ema Burgic and Blair Shankle. The duo comes off a 3-6 loss to Clemson.
