NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt guard Tyler Tanner added another preseason recognition to his ledger as the Atlanta Tipoff Club named the junior standout to the 2026-27 Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy Men’s College Player of the Year Watch List on Monday.
Tanner is one of 50 players on the preseason watch list. The inclusion marks the second player of the year watch list for Tanner after he was also named to the NABC’s preseason names to keep an eye on.
The Naismith Trophy is awarded by the Atlanta Tipoff Club in recognition of the most outstanding player in college basketball. The winner is selected by the Atlanta Tipoff Club’s national voting academy, composed of leading journalists from around the country, current and former head coaches, former award winners, and conference commissioners.
Tanner and the Commodores open the regular season this evening against Bellarmine in a 6 p.m. tipoff at Memorial Gymnasium.
